I have realized that most health breakdown is related to lifestyle choices and unresolved emotional issues, and I have included emotional and mental assessments as part of my plan of care for my patients.
I perform psychiatric evaluations along with the prescribing and monitoring of medication for the most common mental health disorders. I work closely with several psychotherapists to provide comprehensive mental health.

As a board-certified family nurse practitioner with 25+ years of nursing experience and over a decade of experience working as a nurse practitioner, I am familiar with the effects of mental health disorder on a person’s physical health. I strongly believe that emotional/mental well-being is an integral part of healing the body, and addressing this issue is the first step towards overall wellness.
I have worked in various clinical practices providing care to different age groups, from pediatric to adult to geriatric population, and currently in the process of obtaining my post-graduate certificate for psychiatric-mental health nurse practitioner. At Santa Maria Health, I will be providing psychiatric evaluation, treatment, and management for most common psychiatric conditions for all ages: depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, obsessive compulsive disorder, and lifestyle modifications.
