Psychiatric Medication Management
Carefully tailored evaluations, prescription oversight, and supportive follow-up care focused on stabilizing symptoms, enhancing daily functioning, and supporting your overall health.
How Our Medication Management Works
Medication can be an essential component in managing psychiatric conditions, but it is never one-size-fits-all. At Santa Maria Health, Maricela Perez and our experienced nurse practitioners conduct thorough diagnostic evaluations to understand the biological, psychological, and lifestyle factors influencing your symptoms.
We take the time to discuss medication options, explain expected timelines, address potential side effects, and monitor your progress closely through regular 30-minute follow-ups. We also coordinate with outside psychotherapists and primary care doctors for holistic care.
Conditions We Frequently Treat
What to Expect During Your Appointments
1. Initial Diagnostic Evaluation (60 Minutes)
A comprehensive clinical session reviewing your psychiatric history, physical health, emotional background, lifestyle choices, and previous treatments. Together we discuss whether medication is recommended and outline an initial plan.
2. Regular Medication Follow-Ups (30 Minutes)
Periodic consultations to assess symptom improvement, evaluate tolerability, adjust dosages safely, order laboratory testing or GeneSight® when indicated, and answer any questions about your treatment.
